Which film to choose?

High heat reflection – low heat absorption
The energy load of the glass with window film is divided into three parts: reflected energy, transmitted energy and absorbed energy. It is widely known that in case of good heat insulating, double-pane glazing systems it is an important goal to achieve the lowest possible absorbed energy as 80% of the absorbed energy comes into the interior. It is important to choose such a series where the energy reflection is high and the energy absorption low.

Outdoor or indoor?
Although outdoor films are unbeatable in summer indeed, in respect of energy reduction during winter they have their drawbacks compared to indoor films. The greatest disadvantage is that they don’t radiate the absorbed energy into the room and they don’t reflect the eradiating heat effectively, taking away a lot of energy from the room. The second significant disadvantage is the shorter guarantee time. The third drawback is the often costly application procedure. Even so, if you only want to save costs on air-conditioning, outdoor films are the optimal choice.

Light or dark?
By reducing visible light, we filter one part of the significant energy load, yet our comfort is reduced. The low-absorption, spectrally selective films (P series, Elite 70) can even exceed the performance of traditional, dark, reflective films. It is worth knowing that a light filter of 50% is compensated by the dilation of the pupil completely; so we don’t even perceive a darkening of such a degree.

Who installs the film?
It is an important question in case of window films which film series we recommend on what kind of glass structure. The application of a not appropriate film series can lead to disastrous mistakes.

SkyFol organized a unique network of contracted professionals; its members have a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge. You can encounter safe practical and theoretical knowledge at our partners which means an effective solution suiting your needs in the most appropriate way.

What kind of a document do I get after application?
The members of Sykfol Applicator Network give a Guarantee of Workmanship form after the installation. The form contains customer information and the guarantee terms.

What kind of guarantee do I get for the film?
It is important who issues the guarantee: a limited partnership that applies the films or an internationally recognized factory that has been shipping its products for decades to countries all over the world. It also makes a difference what we guarantee. Smaller distributors often make the mistake that they provide the same guarantee for all their materials irrespectively of their structure.

The supplier of SkyFol has been present in the window film industry for 30 years; many thousand square meters of architectural window films and automotive films for many thousands of cars have been sold.

Who is the manufacturer of the film?
In recent years, the circle of manufacturers has diluted. Many manufacturers from the Far East are trying to conquer the Western markets. Today it is still true that these products are not suitable for the Western market in many respects because of their instable quality level.

SkyFol has only contact to world leading manufacturers who are able to maintain a stable high quality level.
